Globalteer is now offering volunteers the opportunity to live with a Peruvian family during their placement with our Peru community project near Cusco. Living in a “homestay” offers a different experience to staying in a hotel - which is the alternative option for Globalteer volunteers in Peru - and is the perfect choice for those wanting to really immerse themselves in Peruvian life, and particularly for those who are keen to learn Spanish while they are in Peru.
Homestay volunteers will be placed with hand-selected families in comfortable city homes with their own room, and will also enjoy home-cooked meals with the family – a great time to practise your Spanish and get to know typical Peruvian cuisine!
Homestays are also good for volunteers on their first trip to Peru or who are travelling alone and prefer the idea of staying with their own ready-made family to staying in a tourist hotel.
Jim Elliott, Globalteer’s General Manger explained,
“Homestays are great way to soak up the Cusco way of life. Volunteers who have come to work with our Peru Community Project have always been happy to stay in our partner hotel, but we want to offer an alternative so that even more people will be tempted to come and embrace everything that volunteering in Cusco has to offer”.
