What We Do
At Globalteer, we run our own programmes – as well as supporting like-minded, local NGOS – that make a real impact for children, communities, animals and the environment. Our projects are founded in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, to work towards ending poverty and reducing inequality
We take great pride in our Globalteer-run initiatives and the important work they continue to do. Each and every initiative is unique, purposeful and affects real change! Learn more about our areas of work and programmes below and find out how you can get involved.
Community Development

The communities we support are the centre of our work. We work closely with our communities, to identify their needs, the problems they face and potential solutions. We believe that sustainable change only comes when people are invested, and initiatives truly address what is important to them.
Education

Globalteer believes that every child should have access to quality education, no matter their gender or background. We run supplementary education initiatives in Cambodia and Peru, to improve access to formal education, enhance education quality and offer opportunities for additional learning experiences. By removing barriers to education and providing further opportunities, we support self-reliant futures and enable children to live healthier and happier lives.
Women's Empowerment

Despite advances around the world, women and girls within the countries we work still don’t have the same access to opportunities as men and are often subject to old-fashioned gender roles. Our projects aim to empower girls and women to make their own choices, take more active roles in society and control their own lives.
Child Protection

Globalteer takes pride in our approach to safeguarding children at all our own initiatives and partner projects. To further protect our children, we developed a Child Safety Module that teaches children how to keep themselves safe. The module is taught at our projects and is ready to expand to local schools.
Sports

Sport is not only a tool for enjoyment and physical betterment, it also teaches children and young people vital skills and helps them develop confidence and self-esteem, as well as to dream bigger! We give our children access to sports at all our projects and run a dedicated Sports Programme in Cambodia.
Nutrition

Good nutrition is the backbone of children’s health and development, but malnutrition is still rife where we work. We offer healthy, nutritious meals to ensure children can thrive and learn and ensure they understand the fundamentals of healthy eating so they can put them into practice at home.
Animal Welfare

We believe that it is our duty as human beings to look after and protect animals in our care. Our own initiative and partner projects are based around the Five Freedoms, promoting the right of all animals to humane treatment by any human that comes into contact with them.
International Volunteer Programme

Volunteering abroad is a meaningful way for people from all walks of life to spend time overseas. By matching volunteers with selected projects, we can support the sustainable growth of our partner NGOs, through provision of personnel, extra skills and financial contributions.
Volunteering gives people the opportunity to make a real contribution to communities in need, whilst growing both personally and professionally. Service programmes also allow volunteers to experience their destination from a unique perspective and become part of a diverse, worldwide community.
