Free Spanish classes for Colombia volunteers

Free Spanish classes are now available to all volunteers on placements with our Colombia Kids Project in Medellin.

Introduced earlier this year, the classes have been a big hit with volunteers who benefit from the tuition to improve their performance while volunteering, as well as enabling them to immerse themselves more fully in the lively bar, café and cultural scenes of Medellin.

Globalteer’s Spanish tutor in Medellin is a fully qualified teacher and hosts classes from beginner to advanced levels for individuals or couples close to our volunteer hostel in the lovely residential neighbourhood of El Poblado. All volunteers are entitled to up to five hours of free classes, starting with a formal assessment so that classes can be structured according to each volunteer’s ability.

After five free hours of classes volunteers can take advantage of specially negotiated rates if they wish to continue their classes during the rest of their stay.

Elena Korchevska, Globalteer’s Volunteer Coordinator in Medellin (pictured above at our Medellin hostel) says the classes have been extremely popular since their introduction,

“Virtually all of our volunteers how take up the option of free Spanish classes and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Even just a basic knowledge of Spanish can make a real difference to a volunteer’s experience in Colombia, both on their placement and when they are out and about in their free time. And I am just thrilled by the enthusiasm our volunteers show to be back in the classroom! ”

Free Spanish classes are also available for volunteers at our Peru Community Project and Peru Dog Rescue Project in Cusco, along with free daily transportation between their accommodation and project, meaning volunteers have even less to worry about budgetting for!
