Our Impact
We are committed to responsible, transparent financing
As a UK Registered Charity, Globalteer does not make a profit. All the funding Globalteer receives is applied to activities that work towards achieving our charitable objectives. We use funds to run our own projects, as well as to support our partner projects financially, to ensure their work is sustainable and can continue to be effective. Our accounts are independently audited and posted online by the UK government.

Lap's Story
Lap started attending Helping Hands when he was already 18 years old. After two years of support, Lap went on to graduate high school in 2011. His dream was to be a nurse, but he couldn't afford to study and support his family, so he applied for Helping Hands scholarship to go to university. Lap graduated in 2018 and has since started to work as a nurse in the army, where he earns five times more than he was able to before! Read more here.
“My life has changed…if I didn't have a scholarship to study, I wouldn’t have a good job as I do today.’’

José's Story
José started coming to Picaflor House when he was 6 and showed a great aptitude for English from the beginning. He enjoyed learning from the volunteers and practising pronunciation. In his first year at secondary school, he won a regional English competition, beating older students and those from private schools! He is now working hard to make his dream of becoming an engineer come true. José and his parents attribute much of his success to the additional opportunities offered at Picaflor House. Taking Child Protection Further
Protecting our children is an important part of our work and one of the motivations for providing safe spaces for kids to spend time after school. We have long had a child protection policy, but wondered if we could do more to protect children outside our care. Our Child Protection Programme responds to this challenge. Our team developed 8 child safety lessons to teach children to keep themselves safe. Our Child Safety Module has been translated into Spanish and Khmer so we can reach more children through our partner projects and local schools. Read more here.

Responsible Volunteering
Volunteers and interns contribute invaluable people power and additional skills to our own initiatives and partner projects. We work closely with our partners to make sure they receive the support they really need.
Volunteering is a two-way process in which volunteers are invited to learn, dig deep and understand, while providing their valuable service to others. We firmly believe that everyone can make an impact, regardless of generation or circumstance. To this end, we have been delivering quality volunteering experiences to individuals and groups of all ages, since 2006.
