Volunteer Coordinator and Events Planner Internship in Peru

Globalteer is an international charity working with communities in developing countries in the areas of child care, education, sports and social services and with conservation and animal rescue projects.

What will you get out of your internship?

Working with Globalteer, you will be helping support many charitable projects around the world making a real difference for children, communities, and animals.

Staff, volunteers and interns all love this unique location. Cusco is a city high in the Andes mountains that has everything to offer, as it is the tourist’s gateway to the astounding Inca citadel, Machu Picchu.

You will gain valuable life skills as well as workplace skills, guided by our experienced international team.

What we need from you:

There are a few basics we require for this internship.

Requirements:

• Fluent spoken and written English
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Numerate, well organised and with excellent attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills
• An outgoing personality, eager to meet new people and make connections
• Flexible team player with the energy and enthusiasm required to work in the charity sector
• A commitment to Globalteer’s Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy
• Minimum age of 18 years old
• Team player but also comfortable working independently
• Please bring a laptop with you

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Ensuring that Globalteer’s volunteers in Cusco have a seamless, well-organized, amazing experience during their volunteer placements
• Coordinating transport and accommodation for Cusco volunteers
• Coordinating airport pickups, providing town-tours and orientations, and being the “face of Globalteer” as the first point of contact for volunteers on the ground
• Familiarizing volunteers with their project and assuring they are introduced to staff and comfortable in their duties
• Answering inquiries and being the “go-to” for any issues that come up for volunteers during their volunteer placements
• Organizing volunteer events and outings outside of project hours
• General administration within the Cusco office
• 37.5-hour work week
• Other duties as assigned in support of Globalteer’s charitable objectives
