How to Help Children in Cambodia Through Sport
Donate, volunteer, fundraise or sponsor team shirts to bring sport to more children in Siem Reap.
Help Bring Sport to Children in Siem Reap
In rural Cambodia, many children grow up without organised sport. Village schools are asked to teach physical education, but few have the equipment, space or trained coaches to do it. The Globalteer Sports Programme changes that, reaching more than 2,500 children across 7 villages and 9 schools.
Our work would not exist without the support of our donors, volunteers and fundraisers. Even a small amount goes a long way in Cambodia, and every gift helps us bring sport to disadvantaged children who would otherwise miss out.

What You Can Do to Help
There are lots of ways to support children in Cambodia through sport, from home or in Siem Reap. You can:
- Make a one-off or monthly donation
- Volunteer with our coaches in Siem Reap
- Fundraise with a challenge, event or team at work
- Sponsor a set of team shirts for a village team
- Give an item from our wish list
- Join Temple Run, our annual fundraising run
Whatever you choose, your support goes straight to coaches, equipment and sessions for the children who need them most.
Donate
The sports programme relies on the kindness and generosity of our donors to keep running and growing. Your donation helps pay for coaches, sports equipment and weekly sessions in villages and schools across Siem Reap.
You can give once or set up a monthly donation, and supporters in the USA can donate with tax relief. No matter how large or small, every gift is gratefully received.

Volunteer
If you love sport and want to share it with children, volunteering with us could be for you. You don’t have to be a trained coach, but you do need to be passionate about sport and full of energy. As a sports volunteer in Siem Reap, you will:
Support Our Coaches
Help our local staff run sports sessions at schools and NGOs across Siem Reap.
Plan New Games
Plan and design new and exciting games for the children to play.
Run Social Impact Sessions
Assist and host sports for social impact sessions, with full training and support.
Design Courses
Help design courses for children to take part in.
Tournaments and Leagues
Help on weekends with coaching sessions and running tournaments and leagues.
Fundraise
Fundraising is a powerful way to help, from anywhere in the world. You can choose what works best for you and your community, and even small efforts make a big impact. Ways to fundraise for children in Cambodia include:
Sponsored runs, walks, swims or cycles, fitness challenges, giving something up for a month, or a birthday fundraiser.
Quiz nights, bake sales, charity dinners, school or club fundraising days, or a five-a-side tournament.
Office fundraising days, team challenges and payroll giving. Many employers also match what their team raises.
Sponsor Sports Shirts
Looking to give as an organisation? You can sponsor a set of sports shirts for our children. A donation of £250 (US$300) covers 15 shirts, and we will put your organisation’s logo on them.
The children we work with live in areas of extreme poverty and have very few clothes of their own, often just one school uniform and one set of clothes for everything else. A proper team shirt is a wonderful gift that gives them a sense of identity and belonging.

Wish List
Our Cambodia wish list shows the practical items that help our coaches run safe, fun sessions for every child. Giving an item is a simple way to make a direct difference:
Balls and equipment our coaches bring to every session, so no child misses out for lack of a ball.
Many children own very few clothes, so a shirt of their own means a lot on game day.
Items that help our coaches keep every session safe and supervised for the children who take part.

Temple Run
Temple Run is our annual fundraising run in Siem Reap. It brings together fitness, fun and support for children in Cambodia.
Every runner who takes part helps raise money for the sports programme, paying for the coaches, equipment and sessions that give children a safe place to play. Join a unique Siem Reap charity event and help children in Cambodia through sport.
