Disciplinary procedings
It is Globalteer policy that the following procedure should be followed when a representative of Globalteer is being disciplined or dismissed. The procedure provides that in normal cases a series of warnings will be given before discipline or dismissal is contemplated. Matters which may be dealt with under this disciplinary and dismissal procedure include:
- non compliance with the Globalteer Ambassador Agreement
- misconduct, harassment or victimisation
- sub-standard performance
- misuse of facilities and information
Minor cases of misconduct and most cases of poor performance may be dealt with by informal advice, coaching and counselling. An informal oral warning may be given. No formal record of this type of warning will be kept.
If there is no improvement or the matter is serious enough, you will be invited to a disciplinary meeting at which the matter can be properly discussed. You will be allowed to bring an additional person to the meeting. The outcome of the meeting will be communicated to you after all points raised have been considered. This may lead to any of the following outcomes:
Understanding and improvement:
You will be formally coached and counselled with the objective of understanding Globalteer’s policies and must demonstrate willingness to improve. This will be monitored to ensure compliance.
Dismissal:
If your conduct or performance is of a serious nature or a serious breach of the Globalteer code of conduct occurs, you may be required to leave. This may be effective immediately and in such situations no compensation will be forthcoming.
If an ambassador is not able to recruit volunteers at an institute such as a university, then Globalteer will seek to replace under performing ambassadors to represent the university.
