Globalteer - Legal statement and privacy policy
Privacy policy.
Globalteer collects applicants information for internal use only. Your personal data that you supply Globalteer will not be passed or sold to any outside organisation. Your E-mail, contact details and all information supplied on the application form will only be sent to our partner organisations at the project you will be attending to ensure a high standard of product quality and line of communication. We take your privacy very seriously and do everything possible to protect it.
Legal terms.
Please read this statement before using this site. All applicants are required to agree with the legal statement before application on this website.
Project information must be used as a guide only, small changes may occur in hours worked, volunteer duties or accommodation to allow the projects to be flexible. International travel has its risks and we therefore require all applicants to be fully covered by travel insurance before commencement of the project. All volunteers must accept the risks of international travel associated with the region visited. Some activities carried out by volunteers may not be covered by personal insurance. Globalteer is not liable for any loss or injury that may occur. Globalteer is not liable for any mistakes made by our partner organisations.
Cancellation and refund policy.
Globalteer is a UK registered charity (number 1119706) we therefore only provide cancellation refunds less the costs incurred by ourselves such as bank charges and administration. Cancellation refunds are only applicable if requested 60 days prior to the start date of the project this is due to the fact that we make a financial commitment to the projects before your arrival. We request that all volunteers are fully aware of the nature of the project and country visited before arrival by reading information supplied by Globalteer and any outside source. The donation paid cover a wide range of costs incurred. We request that all applicants agree that the amount donated for the placement is acceptable before arrival. We recommend that you research other volunteer organisations to compare the services we provide and our costs before applying. We are a non-profit charity organisation and therefore keep applicants donations to a minimum whilst maintaining a high standard of service. Your deposit is non-refundable under any circumstances. If the project is cancelled by Globalteer before your start date then a full refund will be applicable. If for any reason beyond our control the project is cancelled after commencement of the project then a percentage refund will be made depending upon the time left at the project. Refunds will be paid within 90 days of confirmation of cancellation.
Payment terms
A deposit of £UK150 / $US300 is payable on confirmation of application to secure a position at the project. The remainder of payment must be paid 60 days before the start date of volunteers placement.
